Basement Conversion & Construction

The growing need for space, particularly within London, has led to house extensions including increasingly larger and more innovative basements conversions and construction.

Converting or extending basements or building them from scratch is specialist and unique form of construction. We have enormous experience from excavation and structural works to the final finishes to construct watertight, dry, warm, air and lightfilled luxury basements with kitchens, pools, gyms or TV/Cinema rooms.

Conversion and expansion of existing basements or construction of new basements with an existing building kept in situ above, also needs understanding of the disruption basement construction can cause to the tenants and the neighbouring area. We work proactively and very closely with the local council and all parties affected and take mitigating actions to make sure the construction runs smoothly.

Take a look at our NW10 case study with a 400m2 basement split over 3 properties, as featured in the Times.

“Our work is always relatively 'complex' in that we try to optimise the space available so we don't leave a lot of room for error. Some builders love to work with us because the results are always photogenic and they are proud of the product.”  Munckenbeck & Partners
